Features of Nissait English School
Introduction
Our goal at Nissait is to be an ideal school for children to learn & love the ability to speak & write in English.
In order to be an ideal school, we think students need two types of classes. One is a native English speaking teacher’s Conversation Class. Unless we practice the language, we are not able to use it.
Here at Nissait, we allow an engaging experience, that envelopes our students in an English speaking environment. The other class that we offer is a General English Class taught by Japanese English teachers. Students learn reading, writing, phonics, & basic grammar. Our Japanese educators are experienced & dedicated to perfecting the proper use of English, in the proper context.
We also provide events enabling students to learn about & experience the vast array of western cultures.
We plan day trips, summer school, overseas home-stay programs, & holiday events for students.

Education Policy
At Nissait, we think the purpose of learning English is the ease of communication. By "Communication" we mean more of an ability to pursue harmony between each individual. This doesn't refer simply to learning a language, but rather the ability by which the people of the world can overcome an array of differences, such as those relating to nationality, culture & religion, in order to live peacefully together on our planet.
Therefore, our concept of teaching is "To nurture the heart of communication & to support the skills of communication." We hope children will have fun communicating with others as they expand their views & become global citizens.
Native Teacher's Conversation Class
Conversation classes for younger students are taught by native English speaking teachers & Japanese coordinators. These particular lessons are carried out only in English, immersing the student in a completely English environment. We focus on how to use English rather than simply studying English.
We also motivate students to always use complete sentences, as well as a high level of attention on the student’s pronunciation. We have small class sizes, therefore each student has an opportunity to speak & is given individual attention by the teacher. The students have a fairly high level of English for their age. They also retain the information quickly with the Nissait system.
Maximum number of students in a class: Baby class 4, Under Elementary school 6, Over Kindergarten 8.
Japanese Coordinator System
Japanese coordinators are educational counselors, & they act as a bridge between the teachers, students & their parents. They also help young students to join in the lessons by demonstrating good answers as well as bad answers, in order to allow students to correct them during class. Shy students & students lacking confidence will be very relieved with their help. Japanese coordinators also give lesson feedback to the parents after each lesson.
Japanese teachers help with Reading, Writing and Grammar
In order to improve one’s English, reading is necessary. In our General English classes, taught by the Japanese English teachers, students learn phonics, reading & writing as well as English grammar. The experienced teachers allow the students to practice phonetical drills & allow them to properly read & write. With a text book, the students translate from English to Japanese & vice versa.
Extra Curricular Activities
We have a variety of event programs throughout the year. The purpose of these events is to allow the students an experience with the different aspects of Western culture, to use English outside of the classroom in real situations, & to show the students’ progress to their parents. We have Easter classes, Halloween parties, day trips, summer school, overseas home-stay programs, & Christmas presentations. Students are able to have fun learning about western culture, while also learning English through these events in addition to their regular lessons.
Established in 1973
Nissait was established in 1973. We have grown in size & continue to refine our curriculum. We put thought & extreme detail in to every aspect of studies, from our choice of textbook, curriculum development, attention to students progress & our event programs. Nissait is the ideal school for children to have fun learning English, & actually use English as a means of communication with comfort.
